Tom Ryan is a Resource Specialist with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California in Los Angeles. Tom has worked on Colorado River water resource issues at Metropolitan for twenty years and is currently the coordinator for the seven Colorado River Basin States’ river augmentation programs related to weather modification and tamarisk management.

For five years Tom served as President of the North American Weather Modification Council. This nine state organization of regulators, project operators, and scientists advances research and legislation, and advises on the development and operation of all types of weather modification programs. He is currently President of the Weather Modification Association and on the Board of Directors of the Tamarisk Coalition. Tom’s degrees are from the University of California at Los Angeles. Prior to joining Metropolitan, Tom was a researcher at UCLA and the U.S. Forest Service, and an environmental planner at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
